My experience as a collegiate rower and as a *half* Ironman triathlete has taught me a lot about patience.
Yet, I still made the classic investing mistake of trying to pick stocks - pretty dumb.
This cost me a LOT of money ($10-15k) and I’m determined to help others not do that by teaching personal finance and how to automate finances.
Why this site exists
During college, I started my time as a marketing major and quickly learned that everything in business was becoming data-driven so I jumped on the opportunity to switch to a new technical degree; business analytics.
As I neared the end of college I had a finance professor who took it upon themselves to not only teach us business finance but also gave us a taste of personal finance. I was STOKED and SHOCKED at how many financial goals could be reached through investing!
After the pandemic hit, I was unemployed for about 4 months so I took the opportunity to educate myself on the subject of personal finance. Through lots of research, reading books, watching YouTube videos, and talking with mentors/peers, I started to wonder... why were we never taught personal finance in high school?! A subject that could make us MILLIONS over a lifetime!
So I started this blog, entertainment, and education hub to further democratize the smoke and mirrors of personal finance so that we can all live a fulfilling life.
